MATERIAL EXPERTISE:

ALUMINUM, BRASS, & COPPER ALLOYS

At Mueller Impacts, we work with a wide range of aluminum, brass, and copper alloys to meet demanding mechanical and performance requirements. With a dedicated supply source from our partner companies, we offer competitive pricing at any volume. Whether your project calls for strength, corrosion resistance, conductivity, or formability, our team has the metallurgical expertise and process control to deliver consistent, high-quality parts—every time.

ALUMINUM ALLOYS

HEAT TREATABLE

We routinely impact the following heat treatable aluminum alloys, commonly selected for structural and high-performance applications:

2014 High strength and excellent machinability. Common in aerospace and defense due to good conductivity and heat transference. Moderate corrosion resistance.
6061 Highly versatile alloy with good strength, corrosion resistance, and workability. Common in automotive and industrial applications.
6063 Medium strength with excellent surface finish characteristics. Frequently used in structural applications.
6082 Similar to 6061, but with improved strength and corrosion resistance. Often used in marine and transport applications.
7075 Exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Ideal for aerospace and high-stress components. Less corrosion resistant but highly durable.

ALUMINUM ALLOYS

NON-HEAT TREATABLE / SPECIALTY

We also work with several non-heat treatable or specialty alloys for applications where corrosion resistance, conductivity, or specific wear properties are key:

1100 Commercially pure aluminum. Excellent conductivity and formability with superior corrosion resistance. Ideal for electrical and food-grade components.
3003 Moderate strength and high workability. Often used in brazeable applications and non-structural parts.
4032 High wear resistance and low thermal expansion. Ideal for automotive performance parts like pistons and sleeves.
5086 Strong marine-grade alloy with excellent corrosion resistance in saltwater environments.
6020 Lead-free, highly machinable alloy that serves as an effective alternative to traditional leaded materials.

COPPER ALLOYS

Copper offers exceptional conductivity and malleability, and we are equipped to impact extrude several key copper alloys:

101 Oxygen-free copper with the highest electrical conductivity. Used in specialized electrical and electronic applications.
110 ETP copper (Electrolytic Tough Pitch). Widely used for electrical applications due to excellent conductivity and formability.
145 Tellurium copper. Offers a balance between conductivity and machinability, making it suitable for parts requiring intricate machining.

TOLERANCES & CONSISTENCY

We maintain tight tolerances across all materials and part configurations. While tolerances vary slightly depending on part geometry, alloy selection, and press stroke.

For tighter tolerances or complex geometries, we utilize additional machining and in-process gauging to ensure compliance. Our on-site CMM and metallurgy lab validate mechanical performance and dimensional accuracy before shipment.

Please contact our team with any questions regarding tolerances.
